About

Feeling alone in the experience of life is one of the most universal and profoundly isolating human trials.

Struggling, experiencing some aspect of life as less than ideal, you are most likely to feel alone.
At least that’s what your brain tells you.

What if these trials are the ground meant to grow the extraordinary qualities of your truest self?

What if the problem you are facing is really an opportunity?

Having an ally that can hold space for your potential while resolving obstacles getting in the way of your happiness can be life changing.

Deep listening and accurate labeling of experience creates a bridge where clarity and insight can manifest into positive action.

Entering therapy is a journey of discovery.

Therapy is a commitment to set aside time, energy, and resources to discover deeper meaning and purpose in your life.

Gaining clarity, learning new skills, and resolving the past is the clearest path to an amazing future.

ABOUT ME

I have a confession though – I am a brain Geek.

My curiosity about the brain, how it functions, processes information, and changes (neuroplasticity) is a wonder. I strive to stay tuned to current research that impacts how we understand the brain and the healing of trauma.
Cutting-edge techniques that create proven positive outcomes are a must to me. Using techniques that collaborate with the normal way your brain works allows for deeper and more effective healing.

It has been my joy to discover that by understanding how the brain heals, everything I have come to understand about the Mind/Body/Spirit system is validated and has clearer focus.

Don’t worry, I promise to explain certain functions to you in ways that are easy to understand. I get that everyone is not a brain geek.

It is helpful to make a distinction between when thoughts and behaviors are common “human things” and when they are a “you-thing.” This is a simple way that I help my clients. Often these perceptions have to do with the actual way your brain processes and stores information.

You are not alone most of the time you believe, “It’s just me – that’s how I am, messed up, I guess.”

I live in the coastal town of Wilmington, NC, with my husband, twin daughters, and a house full of critters. I love where I live and enjoy kayaking, hunting for sharks’ teeth, and spending time at the beach with my family and dogs.

If you are ready to grow into your true potential, I invite you to call or email me right now. Let’s get started. I look forward to meeting you.
